Dripping wet

Today here in the mid Atlantic region we are at the beginning of a heat wave according  in to the weatherman.  As I walked outside the humidity hits you smack in the face before the actual heat of 92 degrees (feels like well over 100 degrees) even has a chance to burn you up.

Days like this is when I welcome the weather of Arizona.  Although it was hot outside and you definitely felt it, you could breathe.  There were rarely (if any) days when the humidity was high.

This image represents the sweat that immediately began to drip off my forehead as I ventured out of the safety of my very cool air-conditioned apartment.

From the back…

Another flower from my Balcony Oasis.  I LOVE black and white photography but it is something that I am not very good at.  The only way for me to get is to actively work on getting better.

Here are a couple of images converted to black and white using SnapSeed.

Balcony Oasis – Part 3

I have been working on my Balcony Oasis over the last 2 weekends.  As you see there is not much space but I plan on getting as much on the balcony as I can.

I still need to do a few things before I can call it is finished.

The table and chairs need to be painted.  I am not sure if I want to leave them white or paint it red (I am leaning towards red).  I also need something to create different heights that will not take up much room.  Any suggestions?

I guess some of you may wonder why the styrofoam cup is in the picture; well it is because my grandson wanted it there since it is a plant that he grew in daycare.  He told me that he wanted it on the balcony with the other flowers.  How could I refuse?  I will have to get a proper container for his plant.

In Balcony Oasis 2, I mentioned that I wanted a plant that attracts butterflies.  I did purchase a plant called Dianthus which is supposed to bring the butterflies.  We shall see.

My grandson gave me his first bouquet of freshly picked flowers.  He even put them in the glass for me.  Love me some him!

Serenity

Serenity….. this little place in the woods was created for the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show.  I do not remember what the scene was dedicated to.  I loved how it was a little place in the woods that one could go and regroup ones thoughts and to surrender the burdens of doubt that have been placed on one’s mind and shoulders.

Even in this crowded convention center you could feel the calmness of this little house in the woods.  I have chosen to call it Serenity House.  All of the colorful flowers and smells that filled the air were so refreshing.

Do you have a Serenity House (or place) that you like to go to when you are feeling overwhelmed with things?  If you don’t mind please share in the comments or add a link to your site that shows your Serenity House (or place).

WP Photo Challene: Wall (2)

My second entry into the WP Photo challenge: Wall

Row of yellow flowers in the background are resembling a wall.  The flower wall makes the lantern stand out amongst all the colorful flowers.
