After Jonas

Sundays is usually the day that I take a drive to a new place or down a street that I have never been down before to see what I can see.  I would then post a Side Street Sunday.  Well the storm hinder that from happening this weekend so I did the next best thing.  Took a stroll in the woods in almost knee-high snow.

This was an adventure to say the least.  I have not done something like this since I was a kid.

I love looking at the snow resting on the branches and leaves and how it just glistens in the morning sun creating areas of brightness and shadows everywhere.  It was refreshing!

 

This is the last of the snow pictures until the next storm hits.

WP Photo Challenge: Trio

When I took this picture almost two weeks ago, I did not really like the way it came out.  To me it looked “setup”  which it was.  But I did not like that.  So I never posted the image.

As we all know things happen for a reason.  This image is perfect for this weeks WP Photo Challenge: Trio.  I cropped the image and did some editing in Snapseed and think it looks better and now worthy of being posted.

Lasting Beauty

These roses have been around for a while,  long after the beauty has lasted.

It is now time for them to go in the trash.  This is one reason I prefer plants to cut flowers.  I hate throwing them away.

Only the Tail

While on vacation two weeks ago I was able to see a “pod” of dolphins going in and out of the water.  Although this image is a bit grainy you can see the tail of the dolphin.

It was beautiful to see these creatures against the colorful sunrise.

So So Upset

I went to Philadelphia with my cousin Michael to take some pictures on a rooftop of an abandoned school.  I learned some new things about settings for night shots.  I took well over 100 pictures of the graffiti, sunset, city Hall, and the skyline.

Everything looked great in camera.

I get home eat something really quick and get ready to do some editing.  When I insert the card into my tablet nothing happens.  It tells me there is an issue with the card.  So I try the laptop and same thing happens.  I put the card back in the camera and it now gives me an error message and says that the data base is corrupt and needs to fix.  I said OK.  I feel like an idiot now I have NOTHING at all.  It is all wiped out, just vanished!

My only tangible memory of the evening is 3 pictures I took with my cell phone (no edits).

Curly Q’s and Stars

When I looked at this flower with its curls and stars, one of my first thoughts was that it would be a great hat for a character in a Dr. Seuss  book.

If you look close there is even a slight line under the petals that could be a frown.  ( Sometimes my imagination gets the best of me.)

What are your  thoughts?
