Babies Galore

I believe Image from 2017?

This is a Hen and Chick plant that was my Grandmother’s. She had it for many years in a decorative tire planter.

The plant had outgrown the tire plant so it wasd time for some new pots.

I gave away half and transplanted the other half into several different pots.

Here is the one I transplanted into a strawberry pot in May 2018.

In 13 months it has taken over the strawberry pot and I am considering taking some of the “babies” off and giving them their own pots.

I might just let it keep growing as is and watch it take over the log it sits on.

What’s your opinion?

Mind Over Matter

The temperatures here in New Jersey are well below freezing and have been for a couple of days.

The temperature when I took this photo was 16°F and dropping. This young man has a strong mind since the cold does not seem to matter to him.

I can successfully do mind over matter with most things execpt the cold… just looking at him with shorts on made me feel even cooler than I already felt.

Natures Protectors

Natures Teacups?

After seeing my grandson off to school (kindergarten now!) I took a little stroll around my yard. When I look at my last remaining flowers I notice a bunch of brown things all over the place.  I think they are mushrooms.  When you look in the 2nd photo it looks like little eggs and some of them hatched.

A Patriotic Turkey

The other day as I pulled into my yard I saw 3 female turkeys and this big old male strutting through my yard.  The females were harder to capture as the kept darting off towards the woods every step I took in their direction them.  But this big old Tom Turkey took his sweet time.  Although he could hear me walking towards him he never moved faster, he just kept showing off his tail feathers and moving with purpose (so it seemed) towards the woods.  His face and neck were red, white and blue hence why I call him a Patriotic Turkey.

Today is Memorial Day here in the USA and I thought it fitting to share my Patriotic Turkey.

Coming to Life

Today was another chilly and rainy day here.  However, I did not let that stop me from taking a few pictures.

My yard is starting to come alive again.

Tangled Web

I wonder if the spider (it was a Wolf Spider) that I found in my basement came from this tangled web.  Everything, except for this hole in the container, was covered. It is big enough for that monster spider to reside.

Tangled

Of course I was not going to mess with it to find out what was actually in there.

After they leave

Clementon Park is located in Clementon, New Jersey and has been around since 1907. It is not big like the Six Flags amusement parks but it is great for the local community.

There is a different feel to the park when there are no children running around and having the time of their lives.

Up for a Game of H.O.R.S.E.?

Figured that I would step away from all the vacation pictures for now and capture something different.

My employer provides a lot of extra things for its employees to use to unwind after a mentally stressful day.  We have access to pool tables, foosball, gym, walking trails, tennis and basketball courts.  At any given time you can usually find people busy doing something to take their mind off the stress of the day.

For the past few days I have driven past the basketball courts and saw 2 balls that have been left.  Today I decided to pull out the cell phone and capture a few shots.

This brought back memories of being a child playing HORSE with my brothers and the other boys on the street.  I was pretty good!  I felt like I was the only girl on the street since the other 2 girls were much older and rarely played or even came outside.  So if I wanted to play I had to play with the boys.  I was am a true Tomboy.

What was one of your favorite games to play as a child?

Game?

Game?
