Smile
Today I had a few trees cut down and in the pile I find 2 unlikely images, a heart and what looks like 2 eyes (to me anyway) on the side of a log. When I put them together it looks like it is smiling.
I will be getting a straw hat for it and placing it in my flowerbed somewhere.

Photo of the Day – Trichomes
In response to this weeks Daily Post Photo Challenge – prolific, I have chosen to share the hairs on a Poppy flower bud. The botanical name for the “hair” is trichomes.
In a few days it will open and share with us it’s full beauty like the others that have already bloomed.

He’d Rather Be….
My grandson, Arai, has been a bit under the weather the last couple of days with a cold and asthma acting up again. Instead of him resting like his mother said, he’d rather be out in the snow with me taking pictures. He did not care that he had his pajama shorts on and his shoes on the wrong feet he was determined that he was going out.
I had to convince him that if he was better tomorrow we will go out and play in the snow.
We are experiencing a winter wonderland. The new says that it could be as much as 12 inches.

Frosty Trails
After editing this photo and converting it to black and white, my first thought was trails on the moon.
What is your first impression?

A Flat Planet
Although the sun is “emerging” from the other side, it does appear that it is on the edge of the ocean.
This was taken while I was on vacation in Nags Head, North Carolina.

Framed 2
This past weekend I stopped off at the 295 Scenic Overlook off in Bordentown, New Jersey. I passed this location man times and said that I need to stop to see the views.
I thought that it would be more to it but it was OK. he trees that you see to the left in the first picture is Pennsylvania. In the second photo Pennsylvania is on the other side of the Delaware River.
These are my choices for this weeks Daily Post Challenge: Framed.

In the palm of her hands
Well the vacation is over so it is now time to share some vacation pictures.
Caila and I went to Bodie Lighthouse with the intent of climbing to the top. We were not able to climb to the top (thank god!) since the tickets were sold out.
But she was able to lift it with her bare hands which is indeed a rare feat.

Early morning sounds
This weeks Daily Post challenge is Morning. I am only a morning person when I go on vacation (7 day to go!!), but I stay up late almost every day.
So for this challenge I was unsure what to post then it dawned on me….The early morning (after midnight) sounds of nature.
So about 1:00 am I take my trusty Sony camera out to record the sounds around my home. I love hearing this. It is so much better than hearing the sounds of cars speeding by like when I lived in an apartment.
Do you enjoy the sounds of nature?
Yes it is really this dark here. There is one street light and it is very dull so it does not show in the video.

Third time is a charm 20/30
When Traci and I went to Wildwood NJ I took this photograph as we were leaving. It was supposed to be used as one of my 30 Day Challenge pictures but it never made it to WP. (still a bit behind in posting).
But it did make it to my IG account.
While checking my IG messages I found out that I was published in our local newspaper, Courier Post, as one of the nine selected photos for this weeks Sunday paper.
This is GREAT way to end an evening. It is the Cherry On Top!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!
