Treescape

I photographed this image the other day when I was at the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge.  I like how the jagged wood in the center of the tree resembles a cityscape.  To me it looks like tall buildings.

Stripes and Dots

Went to the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge yesterday with my nieces and had a really nice relaxing afternoon.  Here is one of the gems that I was able to capture.

WP Challenge: Unusual

This weeks photo challenge is unusual.  So I decided to try something similar to what Mjleubecker did on Instagram.  He used pears but I decided to use a lime and a lemon and create a Limon.

How do you think I did?

Tent Caterpillar

As a child I used to see a lot of cocoons in trees, but not so much anymore.  Is that a good or bad thing?  Who knows but I suspect it is not good as this may mean that there are fewer and fewer of these worms.

Entered for this weeks Daily Post Photo Challenge: Transient since the cocoons do not las long.  Here today gone tomorrow (few weeks)

And There He Is!!

Friday my grandson, Arai, had his Pre-K graduation ceremony (due to his birthday he will be doing another year of Pre-K).  Although it was a small service visibility was limited, since the graduates were short.  However, I was able to capture his GREAT smile between a couple of out of focused parents.

The Elusive Cardinal

There are a few cardinals that come to the bird feeder from time to time for a quick feast.  It seems as if they know I want to photograph them since they fly away as soon as I pull out the camera.  It is very difficult to get a photo that is in focused.

When Mom-mom is the Sitter….FUN HAPPENS!

Arai and I spent some time together today on another Adventure.  It is a rainy day here in New Jersey and he needed to release some of his pent-up energy for the sake of everyone else’s sanity.  So I took him to one of his favorite places, the woods, which we refer to as an Adventure.

Here are a few quick pictures that I was able to capture when he slowed down a bit.

Look at the happiness on that face!

This is something that his mother would never let him do and since I am Mom-mom she can’t fuss at me for allowing and encouraging it….LOL

Doing the Happy Dance to be in the woods again!

In Honor of…..

….EARTH DAY

My shadow also known as my grandson Arai, was helping me pull weeds in the flower bed today.  He wants to do what mom-mom is doing but his attention span needs to be a bit longer.  I did more calling him back to help me finish me then he actually worked.  He is a work in progress….

Life Springs Forth

Most people, myself included, consider Dandelions weeds because they are very invasive and take away from our beautiful green lawns.  Dandelions are the flower with many health uses according to Organic Facts.  According to Organic Facts here are some of the things that they are good for, bone health, liver disorders, acne and skin care and many more uses.

These Dandelions are growing in the brick patio at my mother’s house.

Do you consider it a weed or flower?
