Emergence

This pod has been growing in one of my flowerbeds for most of the summer and I have no clue what it is.

Yesterday I noticed that it has opened up and a bunch of seeds are emerging.

I still have not figured out what it is. I don’t know if it is something that I planted or a weed.

The pod looks like a string bean that is growing straightup instead of down.

It is Solved!

The “seed pods” that I recently posted are not seed pods after all.  I posted the photo on Instagram and asked if anyone knew what it was and the answered was revealed.

Cedar-apple rust fungus or the technical term Gymnosporangiu, jumiperi-virginiana. It takes approximately 2 years to get to this point.  I have seen these before, without all the orange things hanging down, and assumed it was a seed pod.

Alien Seed Pods 3

This seed pod is still morphing into something out of this world.  It now looks like shredded carrots.  I wonder what it will turn into?

Have you seen anything like this before?

Shadows

I decided to post these pictures because I like how the shadows fall on the seed pod and the leaves.
