In A Crowd

Sometimes when we are in a crowded place it can be the loneliest place we have ever been.  But if we just say hello to the person next to us it can make all the difference.

When you open your eyes….

….you began to notice the beauty that is all around us everyday.

When I passed this lake I took a quick glance and noticed some swans taking an evening stroll under the glowing sky.  So I turned around and parked on the side of the road and took a few shots with my cell phone.

PS….This is post number 400!

Dripping wet

Today here in the mid Atlantic region we are at the beginning of a heat wave according  in to the weatherman.  As I walked outside the humidity hits you smack in the face before the actual heat of 92 degrees (feels like well over 100 degrees) even has a chance to burn you up.

Days like this is when I welcome the weather of Arizona.  Although it was hot outside and you definitely felt it, you could breathe.  There were rarely (if any) days when the humidity was high.

This image represents the sweat that immediately began to drip off my forehead as I ventured out of the safety of my very cool air-conditioned apartment.

The Beetle Bush

I do not know the name of this tree so I decided to call it the “Beetle Bush”.  As I looked to find a good flower cluster to photograph I noticed that it was full of beetles either flying around or mating (and there was a lot of that going on).

If you look closely you can see two beetles mating.

WP Photo Challenge: Half and Half

Introducing my niece Chanel.  I took some pregnant pictures of her a few weeks ago and this is one of the outtakes.  I converted it to half color and half black & white for this weeks photo challenge “Half and Half”.

An Odd Visitor at the Oasis

The other night my daughter was enjoying an evening in my Balcony Oasis.  As she was coming in she noticed this little frog on the railing.  We are wondering how did this little guy make it up to the second floor?

Side Street Sunday: Prison Farm

Next to Sunny Rest was the Prison Farm.  It is stated that there were just a few prisoners here (about 30) that farmed the land, maintained the property and assisted with the final stages of the new Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital that is located just up the street from here.

Springer Road has a ton of history within its two-mile stretch.
