Shadow Dancing
Yesterday I was at my nephews 12th birthday party. In the mist of all the chaos that comes from being around kids ranging in age from 2 to 13 I needed to escape for a few moments.
In moments like this I tune them out and drift away for a bit of peace.
I found myself watching how the sunlight created shadows on the leaves. I enjoyed watching how the light and shadow seemed to chase each other as the breeze blew gently on them.

****UPDATE was able to find out that this is a Pond Hawk Dragonfly.
Yesterday before the storm hit I took a brief walk at the lake by my job and found this dragonfly.
I do not know what type it is so if someone knows please let me know.

Side Street Sunday
Today for my first Side Street Sunday post I present to you a leaf, a fungus, a weed, and a piece of caution tape. These items caught my eye as I walked round the lake looking for something different to photograph.

My Afternoon with LJ
After my Side Street Sunday drive (to be posted later today) I stopped to see my grand-nephew LJ. He is down from the city to visit his grandfather.
Although he lives in the city he is truly a country boy at heart. He loved being my muse for afternoon.
I love to see kids playing in the leaves and he also loved being able to throwing them around.

Side Street Sunday – 1
Today was another beautiful day here in South Jersey. After I ran my errands I decide to take a lesser road traveled and venture on to a side street.
I rarely use this street as it really does not go anywhere but it has wonderful curves and I tought that the changing colors of the trees would look great on this particular street.
Unfortunately I think I am about 2 weeks too late to see the most color. Most of the leaves have already fallen but there was still some left.

Emerging Colors
Fall is not my favorite time of year however I do love the changing colors of the leaves. You get to see different shades of orange, red, and yellow it is beautiful!
It amazes me how they know it is time to sleep for a few months even when the weather is still nice out (not so nice today).
I would love to take a trip up to Vermont to photograph all the beautiful colors.
Thank you for visiting.
