What A Difference

In my garden I ran out of space in one of the raised beds that I was putting my cabbage in so I put the last two in a container and used differennt soil, Miracle-Gro Organics. What a difference!

Now I started both plants as seeds so they are the same “age”.

Look how big the leaves are on the one that had the Miracle-Gro Organics! I will continue to use this product for all future plantings.

Unfortunately Mr. Gerald Goph-Hog had a nice meal with the other beautiful cabbage…oh and I found out he lives under my deck.

Life Springs Forth

Most people, myself included, consider Dandelions weeds because they are very invasive and take away from our beautiful green lawns.  Dandelions are the flower with many health uses according to Organic Facts.  According to Organic Facts here are some of the things that they are good for, bone health, liver disorders, acne and skin care and many more uses.

These Dandelions are growing in the brick patio at my mother’s house.

Do you consider it a weed or flower?

Have you ever eaten a dandelion”

A New Begining

Last saturday my grandson, Arai, was in extra rare form.  He was bouncing and zipping around everywhere and nothing would keep him still for long.  He could not go outside due to the chilly rain that we have been having (today the rain and sun finally came out!). So we were all cooped up and going a bit stir crazy.

His mother and I had to find a way to funnel some of his energy.  I came up with the brilliant ideal to have him plant some sunflower seeds.

After a week we notice that the plants have broken ground and are reaching for the sun.

Cherry Pie

The weather is getting nicer here in New Jersey so I began working on my flowerbeds at the front of the house.  I planted some double bloom Lilies, Azelas, Gerber Daisies, Pansies, and Hostas.  I still need a few more things to make it just right for me.

After the rain yesterday I took some pictures of my newly planted flowers.  The rain on this Gerber Daisy makes the center look like cherry pie.  What do you think?

WP Photo Challenge: Beneath Your Feet

This image is not exactly beneath my feet but it is at foot level so in my opinion it is acceptable for this weeks challenge.

Shadows and Lines

Most of you know that I go to my mother’s home very often to photography and get inspired by her flowers.  This past weekend I went to my father’s home to get inspired.

Spring Already?

Today here in New Jersey it is a welcoming 70 degrees.

It reminds me of the beginning of spring instead of the winter that is fast approaching.

Since it feels like spring I wanted to share 2 pictures that I have previously posted that reminds me of spring.

Both pictures were taken at Longwood Gardens about 2 years ago.  They are 2 of my favorite photos.

Thanks for visiting and of course all comments are welcome.
