A Blazing Sunset
Tonight’s sunset was beautiful.
The camera did not do it justice.
I like how the clouds look like smoke billowing around the sky.
Minor edits to the top photo and I added a drama effect to the below image.
Which do you prefer? I can’t decide they are the same yet very different.

WP Photo Challenge: Weight(less)
This weeks WP Photo Challenge is Weight(less). I decided to do the weightless version for this post.
Clouds. What is a cloud? A cloud is a visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the atmosphere, typically high above the ground and are untouchable.
When I was a kid, and even sometimes now as an adult, I would look to the clouds to see what mystery shape it created. My brothers and I would always challenge each other to see who could find the best shape.
Have you ever looked to the clouds to see what shape may be emerging?

And the fire was lit
Last night’s sunset was beautiful. It looked as if it was on fire.
I drove around until I could find an unobstructed view of the sky. I finally had to just stop or I was going to miss it.
Have you seen the movie “Backdraft”? In the movie it showed how the fire was rolling on the ceiling. This was my first thought when I saw this sky.
What are your thoughts?

What does home mean to me?
I did not do to well with the WP Blogging 101 course but with this new course, WP Photo 101 I think I will do really well. My only issue is the daily posting. I hope I can deliver.
For our first assignment we need to show what home is or means to us. This was a bit difficult at first but after some thought the place that I feel most at home (besides mom’s house) is Arizona.
There is sun, sun and more sun with lots of heat. I am longing for some heat right about now. The desert was very calming and relaxing to me. It gave me a sense of peace which was so desperately needed.
I can’t wait for the time that I can move back or at least go for a long visit.
Prior to moving to Arizona I mainly wanted to go just because of the weather. After I went there for a vacation and to visit family I fell in love with the desert. Who would have ever thought that the desert could be beautiful?!

Wordless Wednesday…
…..well just a few words.
After the snowy day we had on Tuesday and the freezing day we had today with 24 degree temperatures with a wind chill of 6 degrees this sky was very deceiving.
The sky makes it look like it was a warm sunny day.

Reflections
This photo was taken in July of 2011 at New Brooklyn Lake Park, I like it because the reflected sky is bluer then the actual sky.
I hope you like it too!

54 seconds…..
…..A Moment in Time
I took a glance outside and notice that the sky was on fire. It was so beautiful and enticing. I needed to capture the moment. I grabbed my camera and within a total of 54 seconds the sky changed from fire-red to a greyish color.

Thru the Berries
Taking pictures has opened my eyes to a lot of things. One thing in particular is trying to see more than what is in front of my face. I began composing pictures in my head. Thinking of how I could photograph a subject or looking for more than the obvious view.
This picture is an example of my process. While sitting in my car I notice this tree with berries on it and I began to think of how I can see more than just berries on a tree.
So I when I looked at this tree a little closer I noticed a bug. Not wanting to get too close and spook the bug by having it land on me because that would not be a great shot from any perspective.
The softness of the blue sky and cotton looking clouds peaking thru the branches made a great contrast from of the harshness of the red berries.
This was taken on my cell phone, Samsung Note III.

WP Photo Challenge: Nighttime (2)
Although it is not quite “nighttime” yet I thought the colors in the sky were a perfect entrance for the approaching night.
My cellphone did not do the sky the justice that it deserved as I attempted to get the images.
I hope that you can envision what I had the pleasure of viewing.
Check out all the other entries for this weeks challenge.
