Tightly Rolled

I cleaned out the weeds in the raised garden bed that was suppose to have cabbage in it but…. the worms, rodents or something ate them all down to the stem. So it became a great place for weeds to grow.

After I finished this particular area I find these two worms all nicely rolled up.

I have not been able to find out what types of caterpillars these are or what they will turn into… butterfly or moth. If you know please let me know.

My Newest Enemy

During a walk in my garden this evening I made a few discoveries. The first couple of the discoveries were good but the last one was not. TOMATOE HORNWORM!

I was not sure what it was until after I photographed it and got rid of it. I have noticed that my tomatoe plant was being eaten by something. But I could not find what was causing the damage.

All those white things on the Hornworm are wasp larva. The larva feed off of the worm and are helpful in the garden.

These devastating worms turn into the beautiful Hummingbird Moth.

Camouflage

Look closely and let me know if you see it.

When you click on the image to enlarge it, you should be able to see a spider laying upside down. He must be enjoying those sunrays.

A Little Flashy

This little guy and about 10 others were on one of my plants in my wild and unkempt flower bed (my next project).

With a little help from Google I found out that it is a Euchaetez egle/ Milkweed Tiger Moth Caterplliar.

Click here to see more caterpillars and what moths or butterflies they turn into.

Suit of Armour part 2

A different locust and it so looks like it is wearing a suit off armour. His eyes are the same color as the rest of its body.

This year there seems to be a lot more locust in my area

Suit of Armour

Once again my imagination is running wild. When I see this locust my thoughts were that it is wearing a suit of armor.

Do you see what I see or do I need to tone down my imagination?

Green Eyed Monster

Well not really. I think dragonflies are beautiful creatures and not monsters at all.
