Flower of the Day 7/20/19
“Flowers are the music of the ground. From earth’s lips spoken without sound.”
Edwin Curran
The plant that yields this flower is what started my venture in gardening. The Luffa plant.
It was the first one planted and the last to flower.

Prima Ballerina
Recently I have not taken many picture but I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I bought these flowers a while ago and can not remember their name (nothing new for me). I like how the buds hang low and then when it blooms the petals go up with a little swirl to them.

The Beetle Bush
I do not know the name of this tree so I decided to call it the “Beetle Bush”. As I looked to find a good flower cluster to photograph I noticed that it was full of beetles either flying around or mating (and there was a lot of that going on).
If you look closely you can see two beetles mating.

Basic Photography Class Day 1
I started a basic photography class that is offered by the community college recently so I can learn to get out of the auto+ feature on my Sony @65. By the description it seemed like it was going to be extremely basic and boring class but I took the leap of faith and enrolled. I think this will be anything but boring, the instructor is very energetic.
On the first day the instructor assigned 3 homework assignments:
1-Take 3 pictures of anything in the following views birdseye, wormseye and standard.
2-Select a picture from a magazine or the internet and recreate it (that’s going to be fun).
3-Take a picture of myself and it does not have to be a portrait (I hate my pictures so I was glad to hear that it does not have to be a portrait.
Here are the initial results for assignment 1, this may change when I finally turn in the assignment.
