My Other Hobby

Now that the gardening season is almost over I have started making candles in my basement kitchen again.

Candle making is not as easy as I initially thought when I started this about a year and a half ago.

There are so many factors involved like type of wax, fragrance brand, wick size, and various temperatures per different wax type, just to list a few things.

My goal is to make enough great scented candles to sell along with my luffa sponges and birdhouse gourds.

I have a few different scents created and now I am looking for testers so I can see how the scents work.

Hallowmas

I work at Lowe’s for my 2nd job and like all years they rush the holidays.

This year I think was the earliest that I have seen this particular store to have Christmas decorations on display. They were out around the 20th of September.

But as you can see the Halloween decoration are there too.

Newest Family Members

These are just temporary family members…I don’t really want to claim them.. lol

I came home from work the other day and my grandson Arai greeted me at the door. He had this smile on his face so I knew something was up.

He runs to his room and brings out a container with some leaves and a bug in it.

He says that since I always mess with bugs he wanted to be like me and have bugs too. This of course made me smile.

When I saw what kind of bug it was I still smiled and supported his efforts.

At this point I could not tell him that he could not keep the “stink bugs”. I even told him to ask Google what do they eat.

Per Google, they eat fruit so they now have an orange to snack on.

I will give it a few more days then they gotta go.
