Like cotton
The Birdhouse gourd is another plant that I am growing in my garden. This plant seems to grow about 6 inches or more a day. As of today it is almost 5 feet tall already. Per different sites I read it can get upto 30 feet long in some cases. I hope not in this case since my trellis is only 18 feet.

The leaves are pretty big and Arai wanted to touch them he says that they feel like cotton. I had to see for myself and it really does feel like cotton.

The kids ate just as excited as I am about how we are watching our plants become food.
Oh…. my pea flowers have turned into peas!

Gardening With the Grands
This year I decided to start a vegetable garden. My initial intention was only to try my luck with luffa gourds but that grew into birdhouse gourds other vegetables.
I have carrots (which some critters ate all the tops off), cabbage, tomatoes, onions, corn, red skinned potatoes, white potatoes & sweet potatoes, peas, string beans and watermelon.
I am finding that gardening is more work than I thought but I do enjoy it. Another time for some peace of mind.
Arai has been asking to help in the garden so I got him and my other grand-kids, his friends, (all the little kids call me mom-mom) to help plant some corn seedlings.
My peas have begun to bloom

More images to follow in the coming days.
