Photo of the Day – Trichomes

In response to this weeks Daily Post Photo Challenge – prolific, I have chosen to share the hairs on a Poppy flower bud.  The botanical name for the “hair” is trichomes.

In a few days it will open and share with us it’s full beauty like the others that have already bloomed.

“..a way of feeling…”

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday – Meet me at the water pump..now!

What do you see when you look at this photo?  Does it make you think of possible stories about things that happened at the water pump many years ago?

Coming to Life

Today was another chilly and rainy day here.  However, I did not let that stop me from taking a few pictures.

My yard is starting to come alive again.

Tag Your It!

“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.” by Don McCullin

Today I watched these two little squirrels chasing each other up, down and around this tree.  They were fun to watch and photograph.  It made me remember times when my bothers and I would play “tag your it”, “Mother May I” or kickball in this same backyard many years ago.  It brought back fun times.
