Holdin’ Them Bones
One of the things that we all like to do on vacation is to play Dominoes. Now this is one game that I am not very good at.
I like how each person has their own way of holding the Dominoes. How do you hold yours or do you line them up on the table?
Thanks for visiting!

Beautiful images. Dominoes have been played in my childhood home forever. I love to play.

People enthralled in games make for interesting photos. Here many men play nardi or backgammon in the streets. I love your images.

Thank you Jim! I could not get many pictures since I had to join in on the card games.

I don’t play dominoes very often. For some it is a passion. And they hold them like poker cards. Still on holiday, Robin?

Oh. Sorry about that. But you all had a good time as usual didn’t you? I get the feeling you are a very tight family.

Yes we had a great time. It was relaxing. We are a close family. This year 23 (including the little ones) were there. Arai did not make it this year but if all goes well he will join me next year.

23? OMG! Yes you are a close family. So sorry that the little man couldn’t make it to the sea, I’m sure he loves it (He did go last year, didn’t he?). Better luck next year.

Yes 23. No Arai did not go last year either. He is very loveable, active, stubborn, playful, energetic and does not want to listen at times. I do plan on taking him next year. Hoping that his listening skills improve. Keeping my fingers crossed.

How was your holiday?

Very nice thank you. I stayed long enough to… overcome the sadness of all the killings. Including a priest two days after I arrived. (Terrible) I am confident that the french will… overcome this ordeal… They are… bitchy but resilient. 😉

We all must find a way to over come. Your countries and ours here with all the race issues coming to the surface.
I am glad to here that you had a nice holiday.

I agree. The race issue is coming back up to the surface. And not… well. For lack of a better word. I remember when I was a “mzungu”, a white boy in Africa… (reverse situation, so to speak) back then there was no problem. I also remember you writing that you now fear for your boys late at night. That should not be. I guess we need another Dr King, right? Take care my friend.

Thank you Brian. With Trump and all of his ignorance it is not helping the situation at all only adding fuel to the fire.

Guy’s a jerk. And the worse is, being a jerk, he attracts people. I mean, imagine a world with Trump in America, Marine Le Pen Right wing) inFrance, Putin in Russia, and Kim Jong-un in N.Korea? 😦 WWIII!

He is an Asshole…plain and simple. I hope America gets it right and goes out to vote. I would truly hate to see him president by default because of lack of votes. WWIII would just be a matter of time if he is elected.

Yeah. He is so stupid (I thought of the same word you used, but opted out of writing it in your blog) he is so stupid, that he is downright dangerous. Let’s hope for the best. Be good Robin.

Question Mr. Scholar. Why is a vacation referred as “holiday” in half the world?
LikeLiked by 1 person
In the english world, yes… Funny, I have sometimes asked myself the same question. In French we say “vacances” which is close to vacation. My hypothesis would be that way back, the only day off was sunday, the day of the Lord, a Holy day. So maybe, when additional days off were “conquered” they were referred to as Holydays, like more sundays? I’ll check.
