After Jonas

Sundays is usually the day that I take a drive to a new place or down a street that I have never been down before to see what I can see.  I would then post a Side Street Sunday.  Well the storm hinder that from happening this weekend so I did the next best thing.  Took a stroll in the woods in almost knee-high snow.

This was an adventure to say the least.  I have not done something like this since I was a kid.

I love looking at the snow resting on the branches and leaves and how it just glistens in the morning sun creating areas of brightness and shadows everywhere.  It was refreshing!

This is the last of the snow pictures until the next storm hits.

As always thanks for visiting it is very much appreciated!

And so it begins

For about the past 3 weeks I have been at my new house (that sounds so good rolling of my finger tips) painting, pulling carpet and cleaning.

Here are some of the before pictures.

As you can see the livingroom walls and ceiling have been painted a very depressing green, why?  I have already repainted this room to a light tan, it made a world of difference.  I am sure I will be painting it again once I figure out my color scheme that I really want.  I just had to ge rid of that green.

Gone Forever….

….the Balcony Oasis will be no more.  I am moving! I was lucky to be able to finally move into my fathers childhood home.  The tenants that were there moved.  So now its MINE!

The house needs a bit of work to bring it back to where it once was but it is mine and will be a work in progress.

I am looking forward to fixing up the interior and exterior and creating my Oasis both inside and out.

The house did not receive much love over the last few years that it was rented but that is about to change.  I have been painting and getting carpet and planning and just making it mine.

Happy Happy me!

Well thanks for visiting!

Jonas Came for a Weekend Visit

As most of you know a blizzard, named Jonas, came and hit the northeast section of the US pretty hard this weekend.  The majority of us have been snowed since friday evening until this morning (well if you were lucky to get your streets plowed).

Yesterday we were feeling very optimistic during one of the low points in the storm about getting our cars cleaned so we ventured out to begin the task.  It felt like we were shoveling a ton of snow.  But we/they got us out.

I was able to capture a few shots before I fell for the third time and busted my butt and head on the car which was my queue that it was time to go in.

Loves Heart

This week’s WP Photo Challenge is Optimistic.

I am very optimistic about finding Love again.  Love is a beautiful thing with all of its ups and downs.   There is nothing greater than being in love and being loved back.

This fried rice heart was created by the chef at Benihana’s for my birthday.  He even made it beat.

“Z”is for Zipping Around

The lake at my work place oasis has frozen over.  The pattern in which the water froze looks like an ice skater came zipping by and formed the letter Z.

My second entry for this week’s WP Photo Challenge: Alphabet.
