The Lunch Line

This weeks WP Challenge is “Doors”.

Here are  few pictures from the Grounds for Sculpture in Trenton NJ.  It is a remake of the soup lines that we had back in the day.

  4. Powerful imagery, the last time I saw a soup line was last year. So not that far “back in the day”.

  5. The rest of your readers have said what I think too – it’s a powerful image of what happened during the Great Depression. Thanks so much for sharing.

  6. B R A V O ! What more can I say Robin. Your photo reminds me of the employment line lineups my dad and myself would have to stand in as he sought work with other folks in the mid-1950’s. I hated the line ups but I was just a kid. Thanks for sharing Robin. 🙂

    • Thank you Gerry! I can only imagine how being in one of those lines would make a person feel.

      • My dad knew that I hated being in the lineup so after we left eh employment office he would always buy me a two scoop vanilla ice cream cone. Made the wait worth my while. That’s dad psychology for ya. 🙂

        • That was probably your dad’s reward as well. I am sure he hated being in that line and the only way to get thru it was to take you to get some ice cream. A positive end to a long day,
