An Afternoon Out

Went down to the Atlantic City today.  I had a need to see and hear the water.  My daughter, grandson and niece accompanied me on my journey.  We all enjoyed ourselves very much.

Reblogging this previous WP Challenge post for Cover Art for this weeks challenge “Early Bird“. The only time I get up early is on vacation.

Reflections for my Soul

This photo was taken in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, August 2014 approximately 6:30am and I love it. I would use this as my Cover Art for all of my sunrise and sunset photos.

Tree of Souls

On our way to Unionville Winery this past Saturday I saw this magnificent tree.  My first thought was the Avatar Tree of Souls.

Tree of Souls

Tree of Souls

I can imagine myself sitting under this tree or in my younger days climbing up the tree and sitting on its branches telling it all of my problems and actually waiting for wisdom to steep into my pores.

I hope to get back up there soon so that I can see it full of leaves.

Inspiration

Today I browsed the reader and came across “sullivanjphotography.com” by Janice Sullivan.  She posted “Black Plexiglass Inspiration”  and it definitely provided me with some much needed inspiration.

Feeling inspired, after work I stopped past Home Depot to get a piece of black plexiglass.  At first I was a bit disappointed because they do not sell it.  After I told the employees what I was trying to do they suggested that I buy the clear plexiglass and tinted window film.   After seeing the cost I was again deflated.  The young man helping me must have seen the disappointment on my face so he discounted the film by 50%.  Now I am extra happy.

After leaving Home Depot I still needed to get some flowers.  I knew that I wanted something colorful but not sure exactly what.  I stopped into Shoprite to see what they have and to my surprise they had some tie dyed roses.  PERFECT!

I hope you like.

Home Depot Flowers

Stopped into Home Depot for some fluorescent lights and decided to take a stroll to the garden section.  I miss having a yard this time of year.

I walked out with a miniature red rose for my balcony.

Duck Duck Goose!

Who remembers the childhood game Duck Duck Goose?

This was a fun game to play. Everyone sits in a circle while the lucky one got to tap on everyone’s head hollering “Duck Duck Goose”.  They could call “Duck” as many times as they chose but who ever was “Goose” had to chase/race the first child back to the empty space first.  The one left standing would get the chance to tag someone”Goose” and it would start   all over.

I was thinking about those carefree times while taking pictures of this Goose Saturday.

I like how I was able to freeze the drop of water falling from his mouth.  If i was trying to freeze the drop of water it would not happen.
