WP Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds (2)
Dreams
For my second entry into this weeks WP Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds I am entering this lone Seagull that I have entitled “Dreams”.
When looking for a poem to go with my image, the very first poem that came up in my Google search was Dreams by Langston Hughes. This is a coincidence as I named my image before I knew the poem. So it was meant to be.
Dreams
Hold Fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

WP Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds
For this weeks WP Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds, I chose a picture that was taken back in 2010 in Cape May NJ at sunset.
Which do you prefer, the black and white version or color?

A Snowy Day
Down here in the southern NJ area we received another bit of snow, about 3-4 inches. In my part of southern NJ I believe we have received around 12 inches this season. Much less then last years total snow fall of just under 50 inches.
It is nothing like the snow that the New England area has received. So far this year they have received over 75 inches of snow and the season is not even over yet. Check out NewEnglandGardenAndThread to see all the pictures of the snow fall(s) they have received.
Back down here in NJ I took some pictures of a few items that stood out to me on this snowy day.
The snow was powdery so it did not last on most of the trees for too long.
Have you ever wondered where the birds go after the babies leave the nest? Where do they sleep in the winter? Just a thought.
This snow-covered stream by my job looks like a peaceful path to take and explore the woods. However don’t be fooled there is water under there.
Usually on my lunch break I sit by the lake/pond that is by my office and just relax. Even though it is winter I still like to look at the (snow-covered) lake.

Before and After Challenge
Here are 4 photos (2 originals and 2 edited). All edits done in Snap Seed on my cell phone. I can use Photo Shop however on a scale of 1-10 my skill level is a generous 3. So by default I use Snap Seed to do the edits.
I would like to challenge/invite anyone that is good with edits in Photoshop, Lightroom or any other editing program to improve on my photos. I would like to see what they can become.
Let me know if you want the original JPEG file (I know RAW is best) and I will email it to you.
Thanks for visiting.

Side Street Sunday
Today for my first Side Street Sunday post I present to you a leaf, a fungus, a weed, and a piece of caution tape. These items caught my eye as I walked round the lake looking for something different to photograph.

Its A Community Thing
Blogging is about sharing with the community. If you don’t want to interact with others then why blog?
The 3rd assignment for Blogging 101 is to learning your community by following more topics in the reader and find new blogs to follow. Choosing which blogs to following was easy and hard at the same time. Most every blog that I clicked on could have gained a new member of their community.
Here are 5 blogs that I decided to follow (I am sure I will go back and follow some more).
As always that for visiting!
