Side Street Sunday (4)

Yesterday I decided to take my Sunday drive a day earlier.  I am glad that I did as the weather here in New Jersey today is a bit dreary and not a great outdoor picture-taking day.

I ventured again into Cherry Hill and went to the Scarborough Covered Bridge. Which is not far from the Barclay Farms that I visited last Sunday for Side Street Sunday (3).

The Scarborough Covered Bridge was built February 14, 1959.

Strawberries and Milk – Outtakes

Here are 2 shots that do not show the strawberry making the initial impact into the milk.  I like these just as much as the ones that show strawberry.

Strawberries and Milk

This is my 2nd entry into this weeks WP Photo Challenge: Achievement

Here is a YouTube video that shows us ways to get the perfect splash of milk with a strawberry.

Here are my strawberry splash sots!

I was not able to set my camera up the way he instructed.  While in manual mode I adjusted the shutter to 1/4000 but when I changed the ISO to 400 the shutter drops dramatically. I think it was due to my lighting source not being enough.   I believe that this is also the reason that the photos are not as sharpe as the should be.

More to come!

Thanks for visiting!

WP Photo Challenge: Achievement

This was a difficult challenge for me because I have not measured or even tracked any of my recent achievements.

Then I realized that my taste buds are changing and they want a bit more simulation then the usual drinks had to offer.

My drinks of choice where generally Bacardi Rum and coke or Bacardi Limon and sprite. It even included the occasional shot of Jose Cuervos.

As I have “matured”, I have moved towards martinis and wines.  My favorite red wine so far is Stella Rosa.

This is only found out west so I have not had the pleasure of drinking it in a few years.  I can’t even have it shipped to New Jersey.

This is an excellent wine. I am not big on red wines but this is nothing like your typical red wine.

I also like some of the wines from one of the local wineries here,  Tomasello. They have a wonderful selection to choose from.

One of my favorites is their cranberry wine.

I consider this an achievement because I never considered drinking wine when I was younger, thought it was for old folks. One day I decided to try it (with some coaching from my cousin).

What’s an Orpel?

I had the pleasure of meeting Olivia and Oscar the other day, they are Orpels. Orpels are little orange beings that like to have fun.

They love to visit other bloggers photographs so they can explore the world and learn new things.  But most importantly they like to meet  new people.

I had the pleasure of hosting Olivia and Oscar for a visit the other day. They played hide-and-seek in one of my pictures from Copper River Park.

If you give permission they will travel thru your pictures for a nice day trip of exploring and playing.  (You will be given credit for the photo and a link to your page.)

You can also get a badge for hosting the Orpels.

Drop their guardian Marcy a comment if you would like the Orpels to visit.

The Fantasy is Over

Two days ago I posted that I was happy to have 70 degree weather in November. Well folks the fantasy is over, as we have our first snow here in New Jersey.

image

The weather folks said that it would be a rain and snow mix,  which it was then it turned to just snow.  And it is sticking to the ground and cars!

I guess Mother Nature said it was time.

Spring Already?

Today here in New Jersey it is a welcoming 70 degrees.

It reminds me of the beginning of spring instead of the winter that is fast approaching.

Since it feels like spring I wanted to share 2 pictures that I have previously posted that reminds me of spring.

Both pictures were taken at Longwood Gardens about 2 years ago.  They are 2 of my favorite photos.

Baby or not?

I found these tiny pinecones on my Side Street Sunday drive yesterday when I ventured to Barclay Farms.

I have never see them so small and I believe they are fully mature.

You can see the enormous difference between the two. This little one is just a fraction of the size.

As always thank you for visiting.   All comments welcome.

Side Street Sunday (3) continued

More pictures from my Side Street Sunday (3).

This was a good day inspite the fact that I lost the glasses that I just purchased on Saturday and of course no insurance covers lost glasses.

I imagine that these will be some of the last pictures of the changing colors of the leaves as fall is almost over and winter will soon be upon us.
