Side Street Sunday – 1

Today was another beautiful day here in South Jersey.  After I ran my errands I decide to take a lesser road traveled and venture on to a side street.

I rarely use this street as it really does not go anywhere but it has wonderful curves and I tought that the changing colors of the trees would look great on this particular street.

Unfortunately I think I am about 2 weeks too late to see the most color.  Most of the leaves have already fallen but there was still some left.

WP Photo Challenge: Cover Art (2) – Autumn Reflections

Today was a beautiful day here in South Jersey.  The sun was shinning and the temperature was perfect for a late October day.  I decided that it was a great day for a walk in the park to take a photos of all the  fall colors.

Before and After

Messing with my cell phone at work today and took this picture.  I was facing the sun so the image came out real hazy. I dropped it into Snapseed and magic happened.

I like how the sun rays are coming down over the bench.  I could not have done that on purpose if I tried.  I like how it came out.

WP Photo Challenge: Cover Art (1)

image

This photo was taken in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, August 2014 approximately 6:30am and I love it. I would use this as my Cover Art for all of my sunrise and sunset photos.

A Prayer for Me?

This summer I have seen more Praying Mantis then I have in all the other years of my life.  Today I saw a light green one.  The only camera I had with me at the time was my cell phone.  I snapped a couple of pictures and realized I needed my camera.  By the time I ran up 14 stairs and came back down he/she was gone.

I am I seeing more of these beautiful creatures because powers that be realize that I need a prayer or two? If so I am open for it.  I have been feeling a bit low lately and have not even felt like taking any pictures.  I know I need to snap out of it because we are not given more than we can handle (or so I have heard).  Yes I have made it thru some hard times but I am getting tired of fighting for every thing that I get.

Enough og my pity party.  I hope you like the pic.

WP Photo Challenge: Dreamy

This weeks WP Photo Challenge is Dreamy.

At one time I lived in Arizona and this was a wonderful time.  Due to several factors I moved back to New Jersey.  I still dream of moving back there on day.  In my dream I would have a home here in New Jersey for the summers and spend my winters in AZ being a “Snow bird”.

On Saturdays I would sometimes drive up 17 and turn off at any exit and take pictures.  I could sit there for hours and just enjoy the peacefulness of the area.  I could sure use this now.

I miss you already!

Here in South Jersey the weather is a chilly 54 degrees, dreary looking and with a bit of drizzle here and there.

I wanted to see something a bit warm and inviting.  Browsing thru my pictures I come across some images that I took 2 years ago at Longwood Gardens and it reminded me of sunny days and warm weather.

I miss summer already.
