WP Photo Challenge: Nighttime

My entry into this week’s Photo Challenge.

When I was taking an intro photography class I learned a bit about shutter speeds and this was one of the assignments.

My first good moon capture.

I still need some practice as I have not attempted it again since this assignment.

This WP Challenge will get me out there this weekend getting some updated night shots.

When shooting the moon, the good thing is you can use low ISO, fast shutter speed and then you can play with aperture. It is important to know that even if you’re shooting midnight, the moon is so bright that you don’t have to worry about slow shutter speeds, hence shaky or blurry images. Put the focus just shy of infinity and you’re good to go.

  3. Bravo! The eagle has landed indeed. The photo capture of the moon and the black sky enhance the overall aloneness that some really dark nights present. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing. šŸ™‚
